Business Development — Serving Ashland (except the city of Ashland) Barron, Bayfield, Burnett, Clark, Iron, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, and Washburn counties — ICAA's Business Development program assists entrepreneurs to achieve self-sufficiency through self-employment. Clients of the program receive technical assistance in all areas of business including but not limited to: financial analysis, bookkeeping, marketing, business plan development, business management, loan packaging, case management, and group training sessions.
Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Board (CANPB) — Serving Burnett, Sawyer, Washburn, Rusk, Taylor, and Clark counties — ICAA's CANPB program offers parenting education to parents, children, and family professionals by utilizing three programs: Nurturing Parenting program, Triple P program, and Protective Factors training.
Community Services/Connections Store & More — Serving Burnett, Clark, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, and Washburn counties — ICAA's Community Services program offers an emergency food pantry, a Thrift store, Judicare applications, and Safe Link cell phone applications. We also provide emergency clothing and furniture to clients in need.
Crossroads Literacy — Serving Rusk, Sawyer, and Washburn counties — ICAA's Crossroads Literacy program offers literacy tutoring to adults, with the help of volunteer tutors. The program helps adult learners to get a GED/HSED, learn to speak English, set up a budget, gain basic computer skills, write a resume, enhance job skills, and any other literacy need of the learner.
Early Head Start-Child Care Partnerships (EHS-CCP) — Serving Burnett, Clark, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, and Washburn counties — ICAA's EHS-CCP program enhances and supports early learning settings to provide comprehensive and continuous services. It increases access to high-quality, full-day, full-year child care, including family child-care for low-income working families.
Early Head Start - Family Foundations Home Visiting — Serving Clark, Rusk, Taylor, and Sawyer counties — ICAA's Home Visiting Program provides support to expectant mothers and families with children ages birth to three. Educational opportunities assist expectant mothers and families to understand the importance of the attachment theory, continuity of care, brain development, and other child development information through weekly home visits.
Food Pantry — Serving Burnett, Clark, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, and Washburn counties
Franciscan Sisters Community Kitchen — Are you a local food producer in need of a commerical kitchen at a low cost? Does your church or local group need a facility to cook and serve meals? If interested, please contact Alan Christianson or Jennifer Shearer at 715-532-4222.
Head Start — Serving Burnett, Clark, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, and Washburn counties — ICAA's Head Start programs promote school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children ages 3-5 through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social, and other services to enrolled children and families. Head Start engages parents in their children's learning and helps parents in making progress towards their education, literacy, and employment goals.
Housing Programs — Serving Clark, Rusk, Sawyer, and Washburn counties — ICAA's Housing Programs offers rental properties available to income qualifying households. 1-3 bedroom units are available. Income limits and rent amount vary by property.
Legal Assistance for Victims (LAV) — Serving Barron, Burnett, Polk, Price, Rusk, and Washburn counties and taking referrals from Clark, Sawyer, and Taylor counties — ICAA's LAV program provides free legal representation for divorce/separation, child custody and placement, child support, unemployment compensation, immigration issues, access to fair and affordable housing, and other areas that will ensure safety and independence of victims of domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, or sexual assault.
Safe at Home — Serving Rusk, Taylor, Sawyer, and Washburn counties — ICAA's Safe at Home program helps to identify needs and assesses for the risks of falls in the homes of you or a loved one. If there is a need, a team will come in and make modifications. Some examples of modifications include: grab bars and rip strips in bathrooms, raised toilet seats, stairway treads, hallway railings, and motion-lights.
Skills Enhancement — Serving Burnett, Clark, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, and Washburn counties — ICAA's Skills Enhancement Program provides financial support to low-income, working individuals wanting to go to school to get a better job. Participants may receive reimbursement for transportation costs, assistance with child care costs while attending classes, and funds to assist with education costs like tuition, books, and fees.
Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) — Serving Ashland, Bayfield, Burnett, Clark, Douglas, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor and Washburn counties — ICAA's SSVF program offers case management for US veterans, including housing counseling and housing search assistance, referrals to veteran services, referrals to mainstream services, financial counseling, and temporary financial assistance related to housing.
Youth Development and Prevention Services — Serving Rusk county — ICAA's Youth Development and Prevention Services Program uses a global approach and looks at impacting the environment rather than individuals. We look at how we can support parents, families, businesses, employers, schools, and the community to become stronger and healthier. The three areas of focus are: substance use (tobacco, alcohol, and drugs), mental health awareness (stigma reduction, coping skills, and training), and youth development (empowering and training youth in leadership advocacy skills).
